PIIM Parents Involved In Meyonohk

PIIM is the Meyonohk School Council. All parents who have children attending Meyonohk School are automatically a member of PIIM and are welcome to attend any or all school council meetings.
PIIM plays a very important role in the operation of the school, providing advice and consultation to the principal and staff on matters such as planning, budget, communications, community relations, and school programming.
We meet once a month, at varied times. Contact the school to learn when the next meeting is taking place. Your involvement really does make a difference to Meyonohk School and the educational opportunities available to your children. We love meeting new people and hearing new ideas!  Please check the online calendar for meeting dates.

CAMA- Community Assisting Meyonohk Association
CAMA is the fundraising arm of the school council.  Through CAMA, PIIM  provides needed financial support to the school.  For example, financing the new computer lab and library renovations were two of the major contributions made by PIIM/CAMA during the past five years.
PIIM/CAMA also supports families and students directly by purchasing library books, physical education equipment, math supplies, subsidizing major field trips and paying for special performers at the school.
The school is greatly appreciative of the many supports that PIIM/CAMA have provided to the school.  We are also appreciative of the many volunteer hours given by individuals who serve on the executive role and help coordinate the work of parent volunteers in our school.

ECBEA - Edmonton_Chinese_Bilingual_Education_Association
The Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association is a district-wide parent organization to which Meyonohk School parents send representation.  Meetings are held once at month on the first Monday of the month.  Meetings begin at 7pm and are held at one of the schools offering the Chinese Mandarin Bilingual Program.  Please check the online calendar for information on the meeting location.
The Chinese Mandarin Bilingual Program is approved by Alberta Education and is offered as a Program of Choice by the Edmonton Public School Board. Students is this program study the provincially approved curriculum, except that instruction time comprises approximately 50% in English and 50% in Chinese. Students in the program are able to work towards international accreditation in the Mandarin language.
